Mi familia no es muy grande ni muy pequeña. Somos cinco personas — mi abuela, mis padres, mi hermano Juan y yo.
Juan es mi hermano mayor, tiene ya veinte años, estudia económicas. Nos llevamos muy bien aunque de niños siempre peleábamos. No le gusta mucho leer, prefiere escuchar música. A mí sí, yo soy de letras.
Mi padre tiene cuarenta y cinco años, trabaja en una empresa comercial. Vuelve a casa muy tarde y muy cansado y en seguida se pone a ver las telenoticias. Mi madre se casó muy joven, tiene solo cuarenta años.
Es profesora, por eso tiene toda la tarde libre. Bueno, libre no. Prepara la comida para toda la familia, lee, corrige los ejercicios. También sabe tejer. Es muy simpática y siempre nos defiende a mí y a mi hermano.
Mi abuela ya es una viejecita. En octubre cumpla ochenta años. De día baja a hablar con las vecinas y la tarde la pasa viendo las telenovelas de amor. El año pasado se nos ha muerto el abuelo.
Murió mientras estaba durmiendo. Dicen que es una muerte muy buena.
Tengo también 2 primos. Uno se trasladó a Alemánia con su familia y el otro vive en Moscú.
Es hijo único, está muy mimado y lo soportamos con dificultad.
Siempre se sale con la suya y tiene mucho amor propio.
En cambio mi tío es un tipo estupendo. Siempre jugaba con nosotros y nos regalaba cosas.
Por desgracia se casó con una mujer bastante antipática. Tiene mucho genio y se enfada a menudo. Ahora están cuidando a su bebe. Tiene solo 3 meses y ya es muy mono.
Ah, me olvidé de nuestro perro! Es un pastor escocés, también es un miembro de la familia.
Su amo es Juan. Él mismo lo pasea dos veces al día y le da de comer.
Pero a veces lo saco yo, es muy divertido y lo queremos todos.
Como ya somos mayores, pocas veces nos reunimos todos, pero solemos pasar las vacaciones juntos en Crimea o en algun otro balneario.
My family
My family is not very big or very small. There are five of us – my grandmother, my parents, my brother Juan, and me.
Juan is my older brother; he’s already twenty years old and is studying economics. We get along very well, although we used to fight when we were kids. He doesn’t like to read much; he prefers to listen to music. I, on the other hand, am more into literature.
My father is forty-five years old and works for a commercial company. He comes home very late and tired, and he immediately starts watching the news. My mother got married at a young age and is only forty years old. She’s a teacher, which is why she has the entire afternoon free. Well, not exactly free. She prepares meals for the whole family, reads, corrects exercises, and she also knows how to knit. She’s very nice and always defends my brother and me.
My grandmother is already an elderly lady. She will be eighty years old in October. During the day, she goes to talk to the neighbors, and in the evening, she watches romantic soap operas. Our grandfather passed away last year. He died in his sleep. They say it’s a peaceful way to go.
I also have two cousins. One of them moved to Germany with his family, and the other one lives in Moscow. He’s an only child, very spoiled, and we find it quite challenging to tolerate him. He always gets his way and has a lot of self-esteem.
On the other hand, my uncle is a great guy. He used to play with us and gave us presents. Unfortunately, he married a rather unpleasant woman. She has a quick temper and gets angry often. They are now taking care of their baby, who is only three months old and already very cute.
Oh, I forgot about our dog! He’s a Scottish Shepherd and is also a member of the family. Juan is his owner. He walks him twice a day and feeds him. But sometimes I take him out, and it’s a lot of fun. We all love him.
As we’ve grown older, we don’t often all get together, but we usually spend our holidays in Crimea or some other resort.
