Paris est la plus grande ville de France. C’est aussi la capitale du pays. Les Français appellent Paris la ville lumière. En France, il y a Paris et la province. Attention, ne confondez pas la province et la Provence. La Provence est le nom d’une région du sud de la France. La province, c’est la France entière sans Paris.
Dans le nord de la France, il y a une ville qui s’appelle Lille. C’est une ville proche de la Belgique. Dans l’ouest de la France, près de l’Océan Atlantique, il y a Nantes et dans le sud-ouest, il y a Bordeaux. La région de Bordeaux est très célèbre pour ses vins. Toujours dans le sud-ouest, il y a Toulouse. On appelle Toulouse la ville rose parce que les murs des maisons sont en briques.
Dans le sud-est, les grandes villes sont Marseille, Nice et Toulon. Marseille est très connue pour sa bouillabaisse mais aussi pour son équipe de football: l’OM. C’est aussi l’un des plus grands ports de la mer Méditerranée.
Dans l’est de la France, il y a la ville de Lyon qui est située dans le département du Rhône. C’est une ville très dynamique sur le plan économique, culturel et sportif puisqu’on y joue très bien au football.
Cities of France
Paris is the largest city in France. It is also the capital of the country. The French call Paris the City of Light. In France, there is Paris and the provinces. Please don’t confuse “province” with “Provence.” Provence is the name of a region in the south of France. The province refers to the whole of France without Paris.
In the north of France, there is a city called Lille. It is a city close to Belgium. In the west of France, near the Atlantic Ocean, there is Nantes, and in the southwest, there is Bordeaux. The Bordeaux region is very famous for its wines. Still in the southwest, there is Toulouse. Toulouse is called the Pink City because the walls of the houses are made of bricks.
In the southeast, the major cities are Marseille, Nice, and Toulon. Marseille is well-known for its bouillabaisse but also for its football team: OM. It is also one of the largest ports in the Mediterranean Sea.
In the east of France, there is the city of Lyon, which is located in the Rhône department. It is a very dynamic city in terms of economy, culture, and sports, as football is played very well there.
